The Gadsden Elementary School District Governing Board has approved Michelle Nuñez as the new assistant principal of Southwest Junior High School. Gadsden Elementary School District No. 32 has announced the launch of its new Gadsden Dual Language Academy, offering kindergarten through sixth grade students a bilingual education in English and Spanish. Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, the program will follow a 50/50 instructional model and focus on academic achievement, language development, and cultural understanding. Families may choose between the dual language or traditional English-only tracks, with enrollment based on eligibility criteria. Gadsden Elementary School District #32 (GESD) has been designated as an official Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement Course Provider by the Arizona State Board of Education, effective April 28, 2025.

Gadsden Elementary School District Superintendent Lizette Esparza has been appointed to the Board of Directors for the Arizona Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (AZALAS). Governing Board Member Tadeo A. De La Hoya participated in NALEO’s two-day Policy Institute on STEM Education in Los Angeles, where Latino education policymakers gathered to explore best practices and strategies for expanding STEM opportunities. The institute facilitated national dialogue, expert-led sessions, and collaboration aimed at empowering Latino students through equitable access to STEM education and careers.
