San Luis Middle School teacher named 2026 Arizona Teacher of the Year

San Luis Middle School eighth grade math teacher Arilene Gaxiola has been named the 2026 Arizona Teacher of the Year by Teachers of Tomorrow. She is now in the running for the 2026 National Teacher of the Year title, bringing additional recognition to her work and to Gadsden Elementary School District No. 32. This honor highlights her dedication to creating a classroom where students feel safe, supported and empowered to succeed.
