Former Gadsden Elementary School District Student Receives Prestigious Honor from National Association for Gifted Children

Darianna Castillo, a former GESD student, has been awarded the 2025 La Excelencia Latina Award by the National Association for Gifted Children. She is the only junior high school student in the nation to receive this honor and will be recognized at the NAGC Annual Convention in Pittsburgh. Her achievement reflects the success of long-standing district programs that continue to open doors for students to excel at the highest levels.
